I WILL TURN 66 IN OCTOBER AND I SIGNED UP LAST YEAR. MY

Customer Question

I WILL TURN 66 IN OCTOBER AND I SIGNED UP LAST YEAR. MY CHECK IS TO BE BASED ON MY EX-HUSBANDS SOCIAL SECURITY BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT AMOUNT WILL BE. I KEEP EXPECTING SOMETHING IN THE MAIL TO VERIFY THE AMOUNT , BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING AT THIS TIME. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED AT THIS TIME, OR GIVE IT MORE TIME.

Good morning, were you planning on collecting retirement (spousal) early? I note that you state that you "signed up" last year. Since we generally don't sign up more than 3 months in advance, that would imply you didn't want to collect your full spousal, but opt for the early smaller amount. Also, how old is your ex husband?

Thanks in advance, I have not answered your question yet, so please do not rate my service yet.

Sincerely,

Stephanie O. Joy, Esq.
