As long as you are working, the Social Security Administration will recalculate your benefit once a year.
Your retirement benefit is based upon the HIGHEST 35 years of income in your lifetime.
If a recent year's income is greater than the 35th highest year of income, then the lowest annual amount will drop out of the calculation and be replaced with last year's income.
