I was married 3 times my 2nd husband died, I contacted social security about receiving his social security as his spouse and was told I was too young.(at the time I was 47 yrs old and he was in his late 60. I am remarried and I am now 67yrs old. what is the ruling on this.

retirementlawyer :

If you remarried before reaching age 60, you would not be entitled to widow benefits,

retirementlawyer :

if your third marriage was after age 60, you can apply for widow benefits,

retirementlawyer :

If your third marriage ends, you can apply for benefits based on your second spouse,
