What the 1.5 times your benefit max means is that you could have the benefit for up to 3 children, because each child would get 1/2 of your benefit.
It does not mean anything about the number of years you may draw a benefit.

The internet SS info also says that the maximum benefit is $2500. I am not sure what that means. Does the child draw amount push me over the $2500 amount. My estimate is now about $2000 per month.
The maximum benefit is the max that you can draw, not your family combined total.
So, the maximum benefit you alone could draw is $2,500.
