Social security is not automatic, so if you do not personally apply for the benefits, you would not receive them, in fact the longer you wait to apply the more your benefits would be, until the age of 70.

i applied for medicare part a. even though i am not retired. is that right or wrong

That is fine, in fact once a person reaches age 65, they should enroll into medicare as if they wait till a later age, they would have to pay a penalty for late enrollment.
