I want to cancel my recent SS Diabality status and return to work without the assistance of the SSA.How quickly can I have this removed from my status,so that it does not show on a background check.

Unfortunately, there is no way to have the record removed if you have received any benefit payments. Even returning those monies will not alter that fact that you were approved for disability benefits.

How would I need to handle this,so as not to jepoardize my chance for potential employment.

I would be straightforward in disclosing the information. I would also play it down as a temporary situation which has been resolved. If you make a big deal of it so will any interviewer. If you hide it and it is later discovered it will be considered poorly. I would also submit to any interviewer a letter from your physician stating you are able to return to work. That will strengthen the position that it was temporary.

When should I cancel the SS Disabiltity. Great help

I would enter into the return to work program and wait the offerred time. Then, if work is working out for you contact Social Security to report the satisfactory work experience. This will then cancel the SSDI.
