My son receives 1/2 of my social secruity benefit because he is disabled, is he allowed to put the money he dosen't use eash month in a savings account?
Your son is receiving Social Security disability benefits. There are no restrictions on his use of the money and, therefore, he is able to save (savings account or any other method he selects) any exces funds. If he, at some point in the future, applies for SSI (suplemental security income) he will then have limits imposed on his resources. At this time he has no restrictions on the excess funds.
