Husband receives social security disability benefits. He also gets disability retirement and with his former job which he paid as part of benefits. These amounts are deposited in the same account. In looking back on some information it says that other funds should not be put in the same account and there is information that says funds can be. That with all that is going on which we both have medical conditions we might have misunderstand being as all deposits are for disability. If you can help us with understanding and what we need to do if this is not correct so we can fix it. Thank You!
Hello and and thank you for your question. For over 34 years, I have answered questions just like yours. And I look forward to assisting you. First, there is no need to be alarmed or concerned. That is because your husband receives SSD benefits based on his earnings. He is not collecting SSI which is a federal and state welfare program for the disabled. As such, any other deposits you may have can be commingled or deposited with your SSD checks including any benefits you receive as well.
