Hi, thank you for your clarifications. OK, with regard to your question:

I am over 65 and currently receiving ssi Actually, this is incorrect. You are receiving social security retirement benefits. SSI is a welfare program, and unavailable to those with SSR benefits as great as yours. It is for those with SSR less than $674/mo., and makes up that difference.

but cannot contiue working due to diabetis and copd disability. Am I eligable to receive ss disability in addition?
No, that is because SSD is, essentially, "early" retirement due to being disabled before full retirement age. People can get it if eligible BEFORE retirement age, and then when they reach full retirment age, it automatically converts to SSR, which you already get. Thus, you can not apply, due to age AND, even if you could, you'd only be getting the same amount, given the fact that it is just an early justified taking of your SS benefits. But you need not prove disabilty to get your SS, as you already have done so, based on age alone.

I hope this helps clarify for you.
