I have an iPhone4 which has never let me down. Since Tuesday

Hi. I have an iPhone4 which has never let me down. Since Tuesday I can't get any incoming emails. It comes up with 'CANNOT GET MAIL The mail server is not responding" ... Oddly I can send messages on my phone no problems there.
I have checked with my provider and nothing is amiss and they have suggested I contact Apple. Help!!!

I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue.

Please follow these steps on your iPhone>

Step 1:
Tap Settings.

Step 2:
Tap General.

Step 3:
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Reset.

Step 4:
Tap Reset Network Settings.

Step 5:
You will get a prompt warning you that this option will delete all network settings and return them to factory default settings. Tap Reset to continue.

Step 6:
Wait while your iPhone resets its network settings.

Once the reset process is done, your network settings will return to its factory default settings. Your iPhone will also automatically restart. Then check. If the you still cant receive emails try this next please,

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. From the Accounts section, tap an email account.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Tap Delete from My iPhone to confirm.
  5. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  6. Tap Add Account.
  7. Select the account type (e.g., iCloud, Google, Yahoo, Other, etc.).

    If selecting Other,
  8. Tap Other.
  9. Tap Add Mail Account.
  10. Enter the account info (e.g., Name, Email, Password, etc.) then tap Next (located in the upper-right).
  11. Select the account type (located at the top):
    • POP
    • IMAP
  12. Enter the account info (e.g., Name, Email, etc.).
  13. Enter the appropriate info (e.g., Host Name, etc.) into the applicable fields.
  14. Tap Next (located in the upper-right).
  15. Select your preferences.
  16. Tap Save.
  17. .
  18. Enter the account info (e.g., Name, Email, Password, etc.) then, if applicable, tap Next(located in the upper-right).
    Depending on the account type the options may vary.
  19. Configure the sync options (e.g., Mail, Contacts, etc.) as desired.
    Tap the switch to turn on (in the green position) or off .
  20. Tap Save (located in the upper-right).
