It is normally not possible to access the phone without a password ***** pin. The usual remedy is to do a factory reset on the phone. However, this will wipe clean all the personal data that you are attempting to recover. Are you able to use the keypad at all?
I have been researching the issue to find a unique solution. One suggestion that I found was to call AT&T Customer Care and ask them if they can unlock the phone for you. I apologize for the fact that I cannot be of more help.
