The Voice Over feature of your iPhone is turned on. In your iPhone, Tap (double tap) Settings > General > Accessibility and then turn off Voice Over from there.

To unlock the screen, double tap and slide. To scroll, use three fingers.

If that didn't work, then triple tap the Home button and see if turns off the Voice Over feature.

Let me know if that didn't work, so we can continue troubleshooting. Don't Rate my answer until you are satisfied.

I did what you said and the voice over was already turned off. I am really having trouble being able to switch from ap to ap because the button does not seem to work properly. The voice control is still coming on all the time and I have to hit cancel but then it just comes on again.

Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. In iTunes, select your iPhone under Devices list. In the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access in the Options section.

In there, is the Voice Over turned on ?

Also try resetting your iPhone. Press and hold down both Home button and Power button until your iPhone restarts. Does that works ?

If resetting doesn't worked, then restore your iPhone from there.

Customer replied 232 days and 8 hours ago.

Are you getting my answers they are not showing once I hit the REPLY button

No, can you repost them again ?

Customer replied 232 days and 8 hours ago.

Confiugre universal access in itunes is set on NEITHER. I did turn off phone hitting bot home and power. However, once I turn it back on the voice control still keeps coming up and I still cannot switch between aps using home between aps.

That is strange. In your iPhone, goto Settings and tap General. Tap Reset. Tap Reset All Settings.

If that didn't work, then restore your iPhone from iTunes. Please let me know how it goes..

Customer replied 232 days and 8 hours ago.

I cannot get to Settings by hitting the home button. It does not work at all. I am stuck in messages.

Can you reset your iPhone again ? If nothing is working, then Restore your iPhone from iTunes on your computer.

Customer replied 232 days and 8 hours ago.

I am restoring my iphone from iTunes. I certainly hope I do not lose everything. It is taking a while

You won't lose anything if you already synced your iPhone with iTunes. iTunes should have backup of your iPhone.

Customer replied 232 days and 8 hours ago.

It is about 1/2 way done it looks like.

I did restore and it looked like it was working nd loading on phone and in itunes on computer. However, now on phone it shows the itunes plug in and on the computer itunes it had this message....Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with Itunes. I already had restored it. What now?

It is supposed to give you two options; Restore From Backup and Setup it as new iPhone

Put your iPhone to DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) Mode and restore it from iTunes. Follow the steps below to put your iPhone to DFU Mode;

  • Connect the iPhone to your computer with the USB Cable.
  • Open iTunes application on your computer
  • On your iPhone Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
  • After exactly 8 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until your iTunes shows a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
  • Click OK or Restore

Note : Put it to DFU Mode while connected to computer and also in DFU Mode your iPhone will remain blank.

Customer replied 232 days and 7 hours ago.

OK but it is just the same as before. I am restoring it again for the 4th time.

I'm afraid this is a hardware problem. This is something we can't fix in online. Since Restoring doesn't worked, you will have to take it to the Apple Store to get it fixed. I'm sorry I couldn't solve your problem...

If you are not satisfied, please don't rate my answer bad (1 or 2 ratings are Negative). If you are not satisfied, you can close this page without rating. And you can contact info@justanswer.com for refund

Is there any way you can restore it from different computer?

Customer replied 231 days and 3 hours ago.

No it is not my computer. I talked with Apple and they said it was a hardware issue especially since the home button absolutely does not work.
I am going to get a new phone.
