Hello Ryan, thanks for your question. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X look forward to assisting you today and providing you with the best answer possible. I am sorry to hear this happened. This sounds like it's just the battery because it works fine when plugged in. This would also suggest there is no problem with your charger, because the phone does work when plugged in. You will need to get the battery replaced. PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR REPLACEMENT KIT

Relist: Incomplete answer. i would like to know how my solution could be to replace the battery in my iphone 4 when there does not appear to be a removable battery or even a battery compartment for that matter. Can anyone help me with my questions about my iphone 4?

I am sorry for any confusion, your iPhone 4 does have a replaceable battery. It is internal and can be replaced by you if you have minimum mechanical skills. You can also have the battery replaced by a cell phone repair shop or you can carry it to an authorized Apple retail store. Here is a link to get a replacement battery. PLEASE CLICK HERE

Please try this also.. Hold the Power button and the Home button down at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release the buttons and allow your iPhone to reboot, then check to see if it is working without being plugged in.

Customer replied 281 days and 20 hours ago.

when i hold both buttons down the apple logo appears, i release the buttons, and then after a second or two the screen goes black like the phone is dead and wont do anything. does that indicate a definite battery problem?

Yes, I am sorry unfortunately it does. The link I posted has a replacement kit for 16.99. Most repair shops charge around 80.00.Randy41088.0326060185

Customer replied 281 days and 20 hours ago.

Would you happen to know how long it takes to receive the replacement kit and how difficult it is to change?

They offer same day shipping, and the install is fairly simple. The kit comes with all the tools required and also instructional video. The average replacement time is 10-20 minutes.
