My son is switching to straighttalk with older Samsung Solstice.

Customer Question

My son is switching to straighttalk with older Samsung Solstice. We have tried the settings provided for APN settings, but the web is not working. There is no place to put the port (80) or the MMS proxy (66.209.11.33) or MMS port (80). I put the other settings where I thought they should go. It is an att phone but is supposed to be unlocked. HELP!!!!

Already Tried:
put Access Name as att.mvno, auth type of None, protocol of HTTP, Home URL as http://mmsc.cingular.com, proxy address as proxy.mvno.tracfone.com, linger time of 300

Hello, I am Engineer John C., I will be your expert today.

Are you able to make calls using the Straight Talk sim card from the Samsung Solstice phone, at least?

Please click the "Reply to expert" button below to let me know.

Thank you.

We can make calls and send texts. I tried the web again and it still says "Bad request". I have since this morning tried just clearing the address bar after this message, and have been able to go to facebook, ebay, twitter. But it always gives this message when you click on the mobile web icon. SO maybe I have done something wrong in the settings. The field names Straighttalk gives don't match the phone fields for setting up APN.

OK. I will opt out so any other expert can try to help you. You will receive an email when another expert takes your question. The new expert will see all our previous thread, so no need to explain the issue again.

Thank you
