1800 Powercurve Toro Snowthrower runs (elec) but scraper

Customer Question

1800 Powercurve Toro Snowthrower runs (elec) but scraper does not turn??
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: just yesterday....not a lot of snow piled up, as I have used shovel.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: what does it need? I am not terribly efficient :-)
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: It has worked the previous days (2), and I had used it for about 10 minutes yesterday, and then I noticed just power noise--not picking up snow

Hello, there is a belt and spring tensioned idler pulley under the cover on left side. The spring could have broken and there's no tension on belt.

Expert:  Vince O. replied 4 months ago.

Have you removed the cover to inspect belt and spring?

Feb.7, 2017 reply to Vince O. from customer: Just received a call from ACE Hardware that sells/repairs Toro products. they tried a new belt, not it. they decided it was pully and could not get the part. They were told parts were no longer available for this 2008 Toro snowthrower. So I will pick it up, or decide to let them trash or whatever they do. Thank you for your information. I think you were right "on the money" for what could be wrong---I just couldn't get the part.
