Curtis, I have a model #3314 / 14" saw. It doesn't see much

Hi Curtis, I have a model #3314 / 14" saw. It doesn't see much use, just trimming branches once in a while.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: about two years. The second step in prepping to start the saw, pull the chord 5 times, i believe, is a problem. The pull chord does not respond smoothly, but only about 1/2 way and jerky. Ideas?
JA: Do you have fuel in the tank? If so, is the shut-off valve open and the fuel clean?
Customer: It was. just put in new fuel.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I'd like to. My Son-in-law lent it to me when he moved away. We are driving down to meet with them over the holiday, and I wanted to give it back.....but working!
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Why the jerky rope pull. It did that once before when I first got it. the Hand brake is off, primed the gas, tried to pull and Nada

My Poulon 14" / model 3314 has a jerky pull on the pull rope. It has been dormant for lack of use and after cleaning it, wanted to start it up. No can do

If your Plastic Pull Starter is worn, this can cause a jerky feeling as you pull your rope, due to your Pull Starter slipping inside the pawls on your flywheel ...

The pawls on your flywheel could be sticking. I can check for a Poulan Dealer in San Luis. Do you know the zip code for that area?
