I have general GP 6500 generator won't crank change gas

i have general GP 6500 generator won't crank change gas ,pull spark plug and check for spark ok so i try 3 common things air ,fuel ,spark will not pretend to crank
JA: What's the make and model of the generator? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: generic gp6500 about 5 years old used about 6 hours
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

Remove spark plug and put a teaspoon of fuel direct into the cylinder, re-install the spark plug and see if it will run for a few seconds. If it does, no fuel coming through the carburetor.

With spark plug out, hold finger with rag over spark plug hole and see if you have enough compression to move your finger. You may have a valve stuck open or broken piston.
