Small Engine Troubleshooting Problems? Ask a Mechanic Now.
Hello. Thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is***** will be happy to assist you.
When your engine is cold, and you initially attempt to start your engine, do you still have to pull your rope for 5 or so minutes, before your engine will start? Or do our problem only exist when your engine is at operating temperature?
Thanks for your response.
Will your engine continue to run, after it starts, until you shut it off?
This is a troubleshooting question.
I would like for you to try something when you have a chance.
Do you have some carburetor cleaner in a can, or starting fluid?
After your engine reaches operating temperature, shut it off, then spray a small burst of carburetor cleaner directly into your carburetor, to see if your engine will start up without you having to wait wait five minutes.
Thanks! In the morning will be fine. I can follow up with you then.
