It depends on how serious our problem is. Can you tell if your blade spins as you pull your pull cord?
Do you have a spark plug wrench?
I am hoping that our problem is not a broken connecting rod.
Do to the fact that you didn't see anything that you actually hit, the noise could have resulted from something breaking inside your engine.
Remove your dip stick, to see if your oil level is correct ...

As you are pulling your pull cord, can you tell if your engine is actually turning?
Do you have someone who could slowly pull your rope, as you look underneath your mower, to see if your blades turns?
Donna, do you have any mechanical experience?
The reason I asked, is because based upon what you and I have covered, our problem is likely caused by something that will the assistance of someone with mechanical experience.
