problem started a few weeks ago. I have to continuously turn the starter key on and off, eventually the engine will turn over and it starts. Today I have been at it for over an hour and it will not turn over. Sounds like the starter. Fuel is good, battery is fully charged, I just ran it 2 days ago. harder and harder to start.

When you turn key, is the starter engaging the flywheel? Or is the starter just spinning.or does it do nothing? Do you have a voltmeter to test voltage at the stater solenoid?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 month ago.

If you go direct to the starter solenoid, where the positive battery attaches, and jump the cable connection to the switch connection, will the starter engage?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
when I turn the key , nothing happens. I do not have a voltmeter
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 month ago.

OK< try jumping the solenoid per my instruction above.

OK so keyswitch or the wire from the keyswitch to the solenoid is no good.

ok
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 month ago.

You could try a jumper wire from keyswtitch to the solenoid, to see if it is wire.
