I just installed a new for my Poulan Pro and it sill wont

Customer Question

I just installed a new carburetor for my Poulan Pro weed whacker and it sill wont bring gas into the carb. when I depress the bulb nothing moves and ball does not inflate normally, I have checked the lines and fuel filter and even took filter off to see if that might work, but nothing.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: just got the new carburetor today. I had been having problems with it for a while and thought the new carburetor might fix it. It fired up for about 1 minute, then died and wont start back up.
JA: Do you have fuel in the tank? If so, is the shut-off valve open and the fuel clean?
Customer: There is fuel but not sure where the shut-off valve is located.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Hopefully.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: not that I can think of. Unit is pretty new, tried replacing gas just in case. I have the special tool to adjust speed and idle.

Sorry for the delay. I am back with you. Is your bulb a part of your carburetor, or is it separate from your carburetor?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Part of the carburetor.

Have you checked to make sure your fuel hoses are not pinched?

Will your engine start up and run briefly?

Expert:  Donald replied 1 month ago.

Most of the time our problem is caused by a restriction in your fuel flow. The restriction is sometimes in the inlet screen inside your carburetor. Although your carburetor is new, it could still be at fault. I have seen new carburetors that were faulty, straight out of the box.

If your fuel hoses are properly routed, and your fuel filter is good, then this leads me to believe that our problem lies within your carburetor.

Expert:  Donald replied 1 month ago.

If you have some carburetor cleaner in a can, or starting fluid, spray a small burst directly into your carburetor, to see if your engine will start up and run briefly.
