My tines on my RT65 turn fine until I hit the dirt Thought

Customer Question

My tines on my RT65 turn fine until I hit the dirt Thought it was a belt, but that got replaced, is there a clutch or something that is burned up?
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: just recently after tilling a bunch, this is not a brand new tiller, maybe 4-5 years old??
JA: What's the make and model of the tiller? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Cub Cadet RT65, maybe 4-5 years old
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: if I can
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: the gears work fine, the engine is good, just wimps out when I go to put the tines in the dirt

The drive is nothing but the belt. The gear box is all gars and has no clutch. Run unit with the belt cover off, and see if the belt starts slipping, likely the idler pulley is not keeping the belt tight enough.
