Hi my name is ***** ***** welcome to Just Answer. The fuse is usually a 20 amp fuse , it's located neat the solenoid , if you trace the thick red cable that bolts to the starter it will go back to the solenoid . Is there a click or any noise when turning the key to start it? , have you locked the e brake and tried to see if it will turn over
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No click or anything dead silence. My husband and I know nothing about lawnmowers.
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 month ago.
Ok it should have a parking brake or ebrake
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It does would that keep it from cranking
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 month ago.
No but a seafty switch could , lock the brake and see if it will crank or turn over
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It has nothing to do with the parking break
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 month ago.

The parking break will over ride the seat switch and other safety switches like shutting the tractor off with the blades on

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Ok so it isn't the battery, parking brake, or spark plugs
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
How do you get to the engine does the whole cover come off?
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 month ago.
Lock the brake , does it do anything with the parkinG brake locked ?
Customer: replied 1 month ago.

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 month ago.

Did you try to start it with the brake locked?
