With it running on choke only, there is no fuel going through the main jet. Do you have electric solenoid in the carburetor? Does it click as soon as you turn key on and off? If it not may be stuck, keeping the main jet closed.
Do you have good fuel flow to the carburetor from the fuel pump when cranking? If you do, the blockage has to be with the carburetor and it needs to be gone through , cleaned and rebuilt.
I need the full engine model number.

Electric choke. Activated by switch on the generator for start.
Not sure why it needs more than one!
The electric choke is only on when you press the choke button. It is either on or off. The manual choke is variable and the choke flap position is held by cable operation.
If choke has to be used after engine warms. there is not enough fuel going through the carburetor .either float and needle passage is not fully open, or they need adjustment, to let more fuel in. Raising the float level/
call is extra charge. Not sue it is worth it, I dozed off on you!
That is true, few carburetors have adjustments today! I would check the flow of fuel to the carburetor from the tank, at the carb. !1/4 cup in 15 seconds.
