Customer Question

My Generac 7750 EXL was in storage for several months. I live on East Coast of FL and need my generator today.

I installed fresh oil to the fill line and fresh gas. The 15 hp Model GH-410 engine will start and run for about 20 seconds and then shuts down. I do not have a load on the generator. I will appreciate your suggestion.

Hi I'm Wayne

I will help you with this

sounds like your needle valve is stuck in the carb

drop the bowl off and make sure the float is moving free and needle valve is dropping also

I hope this helped you

Wayne,I removed the fuel bowl below the carb and tested the float. I allow fuel to flow freely. I did not see a needle valve. I reassembled the carb and started the engine. It runs about 20 seconds and shuts down as if I am pushing the "off" switch. Could the issue be the off switch or low oil sensor? How may I bypass those switches?

HI

yes it can be the low oil pressure switch

remove the wire from it
