Customer Question

I'm having a 11K Generac installed right now, my question is I have lost power here for up to three days, will I be safe to go with a 100 gallon propane tank or should I go to larger tank?

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.

You would only get a day and a half to two days at full load on 100 gallons.

Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 1 month ago.

Are you just wantuing to have enough for three full days?

I might suggest a 500 gallon tank. Propane doesnt go bad.

I don't plan to go with a 500 gallon tank, also the generator is not going to run at full speed all the time so less fuel used, I just plan to use a 250 gallon tank then to have fuel just setting,

At half load you will use 250 in four days or so. If three days is your goal and you will not be fully loading it (even in the hottest days of summer) then you should be fine.

I tend to overprepare because if power somehow doesnt get restored for a week I dont want to live for three days without electric.
