Have a Yamaha g16 that stopped moving. Would not grab the belt. Replaced the clutch assembly and now it seems as though it wants to move but barely creeps along the yard.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: Just put on the new part today.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: If possible.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?

Is the engine actually running, or is it just driving along on the starter/generator?If engine does not start, and the rpm increases, the clutch will not close and grasp the belt.

I see question is still open, did you find my response? And was engine running? If engine is ok, then the drive clutch is bad.
