How do I time the zero turn gears on a I 1050 cub cadet?

What gears are you timing? The two gears out front on each side of the steer axle? Both gears have hols drilled in them, one hole is on the tooth, the opposing gear has hole in base of tooth. These are the timing marks. See parts links below.
