Yes, you can , run battery voltage direct to the glow plug strip. Just don't leave it on longer than 15 seconds at a time, or it will ruin the glow plugs.
If the wire you mentioned, is glow plug wire, yes you can jump it there, it should go direct to the glow plug strip.
I do not have the wiring diagram. I thought you had it, how did you come up with wire number?
I can opt out and see if anyone else has the diagram. Sorry. Please do not respond to me, or it will lock the question to me.

As Curtis stated. If that wire goes to plugs, yes you can. Can you not see where the wire goes? What site did you get the number from? You just need to get power to the glow plugs
I am on hold with Generator shop that deals in Onan, one moment
I had to wait to speak with a Tech, but her had no idea about a wire A1J8. I explained to him everything that has taken place here, and he said tryto power the wire as if not, it may blow a fuse but that is it. He couldn't give me a 100% answer. Sorry. Hope it does work for you
Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am going to assist you with this.
I am a certified Onan technician.
Wire A1J8 is indeed the wire that powers the glow plugs.
You can jump 12V directly to the wire to see if the glow plugs are heating up.
In an emergency I would hotwire the glow plugs, but would definitely not call it a permanent fix.
But you need to get the root issue fixed - which is a bad controller.
