Hi, I have been trying to troubleshoot starting this weed eater. I haven't used it in about 5 years, so has been dormant. Gas tank was empty, so I filled it up again. I replaced the spark plug because there were some black marks on the end.

Take spark plug out, and put a small amount of fuel direct into the spark plug hole, and reinstall the spark plug, Now try to start engine without using the choke. If it fires and tries to run, your carburetor is plugged from deposits, caused by the old fule left in unit.
