Hi, my name is***** will be assisting you.

Based on the provided information it is not doing this all of the time, is that correct?

Expert:  JohnF2015 replied 4 months ago.

Is there anything that you or he has noticed that seems to start this vibration? Does it only do it when first engaging the blades? Only after it has run for a while? Any other information that you can provide will or could be helpful in troubleshooting the problem.

right, at odd times
after it has run for awhile. I don't think he's looked under the deck yet. It does good job mowing.

I really don't have anything else, no trends with the machine?

Normally vibrations can be caused by:

  1. Unbalanced mower blades
  2. A bad spot in the mower deck belt
  3. Lots of grass build up under the mower deck while mowing.
  4. Bearings getting hot and beginning to seize after running for a while.

The first two things would be a more persistent issue that would not be intermittent as you are indicating. I would look at the last two items as one of them is the likely cause of your problem or vibration.

You've given me a place to start, thanks, ***** ***** the garage to work on my harley-another career.

Since it doesn't do it all the time then it has to be something that changes as he is mowing.

If he is running through tougher grass or gets a large amount of grass built up under the deck that is not being discharged then it will begin to make some vibrations as well as possibly slip the mower belt.

The bearing issue could also be one that would only show itself after running for a little while but would only get worse the longer that it was run.

Thank you it has been a pleasure to assist you.
