I changed to drive belt on my cub cadet zeroturn and now the wheels turn in different directions when trying to drive it. it goes nowhere as the wheels are fighting each other.

If the mower will not move, how r you sure wheels are going opposite directions? they will do this normally when wheels are off ground anyways

Is that with mower on the ground, or rear end jacked up in the air? Sorry to sound like I am asking dumb questions, but it makes a difference as to what to check next. Did you pull wheels at anytime ?
