I am unable to remove the bump knob to gain access to the spool of a M2500 curved shaft 2 cycle trimmer. Any suggestions for removing it will be greatly appreciated. The spool will not turn. Thanks. *****

Hello, the problem is the outer hub has a hex molded into it and it fits over the shaft arbor and it is rounded out. You may need to break the knob by popping it off of the square head bolt. Then push own on the spool to expose as much of the shaft you can so you can clamp pliers on it to try to hold it while loosening the square head bolt
