Small Engine Troubleshooting Problems? Ask a Mechanic Now.
Hi, my name is***** will be assisting you.
This sounds like the seat safety switch is not recognizing that you are in the seat therefore when you release out on the brake pedal it kills the engine. The first thing that I would check is the operation of the seat safety switch to make certain that it is working properly.
Thank you it has been a pleasure to assist you.

Depending on the number of wires coming into the seat switch, you could possibly unplug the wiring and bypass the switch.
If you have two wires coming into the switch you can bypass it fairly easily as a temporary fix. Just unplug the wiring going to the seat switch and try to start then machine, if it still does the same thing then you will need to add a jumper wire between the two in the connector and see if that doesn't at least make it work for the moment.
If you have a four wire switch there is no bypassing it or an easy way to fix the problem without replacing the switch.
