My John Deere riding lawn mower leaves brown spots on the lawn when I stop. I cannot find a leak though, any ideas?

My thoughts are that you have either an oil or fuel leak that is creating the brown spots. I would look really hard at the bottom oil seal on the engine and the carburetor.
