Single cylinder Kohler engine. No spark if you remove the spark plug and ground it to the metal of the engine? If no spark, remove the top cover, and locate the coil next to the flywheel. Unplug the single wire to it, which is the kill wire, and check for spark again. No spark with kill wire removed, you need a new coil.
