Hi john
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

First thing to check is the unloader valve . Do you have the model number of the pressure washer itself ?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Model 020415
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

If the engine is running ok the water pressure issue will be within the pump

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Ok
Customer: replied 8 months ago.

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

On the pump ?

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

The unloader valve can get stuck ,

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
How can we get it unstuck? We tried Vaseline?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
It sticks again when we put it back together
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
We put it back together....that didn't fix it
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

That's the unloader , the tip should retract about a half inch

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Hey… We are heading to Lowes… Hopefully they will have it
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

If not we will have to get the numbers off the pump and pull the parts breakdown of the pump

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Any idea how much they run?
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.
We need to find out which pump it has . They used 2 different pumps
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.
Was it stored in a shed where temperatures get below freezing
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
No
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.

Ok , well once we know what pump it is we can price them , on the link I sent earlier it shows it could have 1 of the 2 pumps on it

Customer: replied 8 months ago.

Could it just be the unloader? Can you buy just that part?
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.
That's what I'm trying to find out . Does the tip retract in a quarter of a inch?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
It retracts maybe 1/8 of an inch
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 8 months ago.
