Customer Question

We have an electric golf cart that intermittently does not go in reverse.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: The last couple of weeks
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: probably not. But would like to have an idea of what is wrong so we don't get the run around
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: the batteries are a couple years old and on occasion when we've run it for maybe half an hour it won't go up a hill
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Small Engine Technician about your situation and then connect you two.

Make and model? Where is the F/R switch? At your knee or on the dash? Most directional problems are caused by bad contacts in the f/r switch.

with switch on dash, I would replace the switch before going any further. The direction change is made at the controller, so if the f/r switch does not help, next would be to replace the controller!
