I have a PXT 9000 Lawn tractor, the shift arm is not engaging properly, have to move it back and forth till it moves, then it is very slow. I just did a oil change/filter, plugs & air cleaner last week. the first time this has happened.

Is the drive belt # ***** in lace and tight? Check the belt with engine OFF, belt should be tight, and is held tight by the tension spring # ***** when the brake/clutch is up. Has belt ever been replaced/
