A heavy "clack-clack-clack" sound is coming from my D140

Customer Question

A heavy "clack-clack-clack" sound is coming from my D140 whenever it is put into gear. It does not sound when the brake is engaged only when the brake is released and the forward or reverse pedals are engaged. it sounds as if it is coming from the pulling directly above the transmission. The sound increases in tempo as the throttle is advanced. Any idea what it is and if it is something I can fix myself?

The fan is not loose or broken on top of the transmission? See the link above.
