I recently purchased a Husqvarna 128CD trimmer. I've used it

Customer Question

I recently purchased a Husqvarna 128CD weed trimmer. I've used it twice. I just started it and now the head won't spin. It starts fine. The throttle works, but the head won't spin.

Hello. Thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is***** will be happy to assist you. Have you disassembled your two piece shaft recently?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
After the head wouldn't spin.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I think it's something with the throttle. It started. When I gave it gas, you could tell something happened. The sound was different and the head quit spinning.
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
Thanks for this information. It seems that your engine is not revving up enough to spin your head. Are you using newly purchased, fresh fuel?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The engine is revving fine. I'm only using the Husqvarna pre-mixed gasoline in the can.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is there a spring that connects the throttle to the drive shaft?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I don't want to take it apart if I can help it. I'll take it back to Lowe's and raise cane.
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
Okay. There is a clutch drum on your engine that turns your drive shaft. I will get an image for you.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Okay.

Take a look at part# ***** in the image. This is the part that turns your drive shaft.
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
The end of your shaft fit into a square opening in your clutch drum.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I'm printing it. Good grief. I've never seen so many parts!!!
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
Okay. Yes there are a lot of parts in the assembly.
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
If your drive shaft is not fully inserted into your clutch drum, this can prevent your head from turning.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
That's where the line feed meets the shaft? Mine came pre-assembled. How do I get the whole thing off? I've changed the line once, and it worked afterward. Then today, it screwed up.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I'm sure the tap feed thing comes off. But how?
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
Are you referring to removing the whole head assembly?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Honestly, I can't tell what I'm looking at. Is all engine?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I'm pretty handy, but I think this is more than I can handle.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I can spin the head all the way with my hand. Obviously something isn't catching.
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
How old is your trimmer?

i bought it around the 11th of April. This year. I've used it three times, max.
I also bought a new Honda mower. Blade cable broke second time I used it. What's with these things. I'm ayard working pro. Never had trouble with a Honda before. I have a Husqvarna back pack blower that's never given me any trouble.
Expert:  Donald replied 11 months ago.
You just happened to get a random bad mower. Honda still makes a good mower. I would carry the trimmer back to Lowe's, rather than chance voiding your warranty.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I wish I could send you a picture. There doesn't appear to be any way to remove the head. It goes straight into it. There is no nut or threads. The line tapping head just spins. It won't come off.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I've had a Honda mower for the past 26 years. Love them. I think I'm cursed.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I'll take it back. Thanks for your help.

You are very welcome! I love them too.
