I have a Champion 3100 generator, and I left the power switch

Customer Question

I have a Champion 3100 generator, and I left the power switch on for several days, so now it has no battery power for the electric start. I seem unable to pull start it as well. Can it be jump started or can you instruct me how to get it started? Thanks

Yes, it is fine to jump the genset. The best way to do it is to use another small 12V battery, such as a lawn mower or motorcycle battery. If you only have a car battery, make sure the car is NOT running when you jump it. The genset battery will only draw the power it needs, but if the car is running, it can provide too much voltage to the dead battery and cause it to explode.
