engine was working fine near the end of cutting heavy grass motor bogged and sounded like engine was about to through a rod or something, clanging noise. stopped and would not start. When I got is started same noise and back fired through carb

Hi, my name is***** will be assisting you.The first thing that I would check is the push rods, if one of them is bent or has come loose it would explain the power loss, the noise and the backfire through the carburetor.
