When I engage the the foot peddle to put the mower in motion

when I engage the the foot peddle to put the mower in motion it will not move.
the brake is off the belts are fine the engine is running fine I think it is some sort of rod that my have broken disengaging the peddle deoe that sound right, if so how do I fix it

Is the belt tight? The tension spring should keep the belt tight! When on the ground, would the mower roll in freewheel? Did you have either rear wheel off ? Is the top transmission pulley/fan turning when the engine is running?
