Customer Question

I have a Troy Bilt TB289 ES for almost 2 years. I charged it a few weeks ago, dumped old gas and put in brand new gas, filled the oil. It will start, but dies within a minute. Subsequent starts end up dying within seconds, and then it is very difficult to catch. It turns over, but no catch.

Hello, and thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is***** will be happy to assist you. It is very likely that your carburetor is at fault, and will need to be cleaned.

Do you have some carburetor cleaner in a can? If so, spray a small burst directly into your carburetor. Let's see if this will help start your engine. You and I can continue from here. Thanks!
