Have a Troy Bilt Bronco 2008. Starter will spin - but will not rise to engage the flywheel. Starter is spinning in the proper direction. Info on Starter is: johnson electric starter(###) ###-####07294

What is the battery voltage , it has to be at least 12. 5 volts. and what engine do you have?

Looks like the starter(###) ###-####s is for Kohler engine. If battery voltage is low, the starter will not spin fast enough to enter the flywheel.

Fully charged it would be well over 13 volts.
