Are you getting a full flow of fule to the carburetor> Seems like you may have enough for idle but not enough for horsepower, test would be a line from fule pump into a separate fuel container.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Will try that. How do I get back to this thread?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 10 months ago.

Having a problem with 15 hp 4 stroke Mercury engine. Checked fuel line from gas tank, filter, fuel pump, rebuilt carb. Has adequate fuel flow. When testing engine today it accelerated at first but then would not after a few minutes. Need more trouble shooting tips?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 10 months ago.
Can you run it from another tank, direct to the fule pump? I still think there is fuel starvation. It has the fuel to begin with, but is being restricted when t will not accelerate.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
We have tried different fuel tanks
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 10 months ago.
Have you used a different fuel hose from tank to carburetor?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Yes

Could the exhaust port be plugged?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 10 months ago.
If exhaust can't get out, fule can't get in.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Ok will check that thanks
