Customer Question

I have a Troy built bronco with the kohler 600sv. The tractor is 5 years old. The kohler blew and I don't want to replace it with another kohler. Any Briggs engines an easy swap. Any recommendations. I am look at a 17.5 hp Briggs. Model 31R976-0016.

There are no easy swaps! Wiring issues and linkages . But it can be done. Just need to verify the crankshaft size , as that is the part that has to be correct. Everything else can be adapted. But that said, your Kohler was a 20 hp engine and you want to go with less horsepower. with the Briggs 17.5 ?

That's where I was looking. I just don't like the kohler and I have read horrible reviews for the 600sv

What happened to yours? I see many Kohlers that run without problems Just keep oil in them and service regularly.
