I have a Deere 2305 HST Lawn Tractor with approx. 123 hrs.on

Customer Question

Hi,
I have a John Deere 2305 HST Lawn Tractor with approx. 123 hrs.on it. While mowing I heard a noise which I had thought to be an object that I run had run over and was caught under the deck obstructing the blades. I immediately turned the tractor off and saw nothing lodged under the deck. I then restarted the tractor and discovered that clutch, forward and reverse pedals were frozen. The orange emergency brake lever was loose with no tension what so ever. My local dealer said that it sounded like a transmission problem and it would take 2 weeks to pick up, approx. 2 weeks for repair with an estimated ballpark figure of $2,500 for repairs. Could you please offer any insight you may have?!
Also, the tractor broke down at the back of my property. With the above issues I have explained above, would it be possible to tow the tractor back up to my barn?
Thanks ,

Hi I'm Wayne

I will try to help you with this

if your pedals are frozen, park brake is loose

it is not the Trans, but something was bent underneath

you mat have hit a rock , it shoot up and bent something

I am not there to see so Hard to make a call on it

it does need to go to a shop, but I would use a small engine repair shop

rather the a JD dealer ($$$)

the only way to move it , is pull the rear axle

I hope this helped you
