PK, I have a sears 42 inch mower with a koljer 15.5 ohh eng.

Customer Question

hi PK, I'm John. I have a sears 42 inch mower with a koljer 15.5 ohh eng. It is not chasing. I have 12.5 volts off and the same when running. from the 2 wires from the stator I have 0 ohms when grounding each wire. resistance together is also 0. the ac volts together varies at 9-12-15 at full throttle. Is my stator bad? I don't know where the diode is or what is the voltage regulator. any thoughts?

Hi my name is ***** ***** well . Welcome to Just Answer , if your not getting any voltage when running , the stator is bad , sometimes mice get in there and make a nest etc and it ruins it .

Here is the link to the service manual for your engine

The diode is usually with one of the wires coming off the stator
